AEON - TEDxSydney Film
AEON is an animated short film created to be a part of the 2013 TEDxSydney conference. It's purpose is to act as a 'palette cleanser' between talks.
AEON explores the concepts of growth, loosely reflected as a cyclical journey across the natural seasons over the course of many years. We draw loose parallels between these natural seasons and the seasons within an individuals life.
We purposely left the piece open to interpretation, but we would note that in developing AEON, we did explore the deeper concepts of life, existence and the identity of the individual within the broader cosmos. Where do we fit in when there is so much that is greater than the individual.
Our subjects are drawn from nature with moments particularly relevant to the Australian landscape from which many Australians forge their identity. We wanted the piece to be emotive and textured, opting for a stylised, low poly treatment complex in execution but nicely simplistic in its actual aesthetic. We wanted to explore geometry and the reduction of things to these core elements. The design and treatment a reflection of what is core to our existence.

Perception of Consequence
Here's a short description:
This multidimensional project represents the idea of consequence and constraints of motion set by the rules of physics. Two fluid-evolving forms are placed in a reversible entropic system and simulated to resemble evolving human states and emotions. The system itself evolves from organic form into chaos, but its cyclical nature pushes the system towards rebirth. Situated against a 15’ fabricated wall and within a tangible environment, control-activated whirlwinds encapsulate viewers as if like being part of the system itself. Exploiting both your visual, auditory and touch sensory systems, Perception of Consequence will guide you through the experience of transformation and evolution.

Smarter Objects
The Smarter Objects system explores a new method for interaction with everyday objects. The system associates a virtual object with every physical object to support an easy means of modifying the interface and the behavior of that physical object as well as its interactions with other "smarter objects". As a user points a smart phone or tablet at a physical object, an augmented reality (AR) application recognizes the object and offers an intuitive graphical interface to program the object's behavior and interactions with other objects. Once reprogrammed, the Smarter Object can then be operated with a simple tangible interface (such as knobs, buttons, etc). As such Smarter Objects combine the adaptability of digital objects with the simple tangible interface of a physical object. We have implemented several Smarter Objects and usage scenarios demonstrating the potential of this approach.

Head - Alpha
M-I-E were asked to produce a 90 second commercial for iconic, global tennis brand, Head. The reference for the spot was the latest Tron film and the brief was to take the style to a new level. The piece was launched at a fashion event in Shanghai and will be used on TV, in cinema and as a viral. The music was created by Meanred in London.
